New Castle County, Delaware - Bernard McCarren Division 2
The Ancient Order of Hibernians is America’s oldest Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization founded concurrently in the coal-mining region of Pennsylvania and New York City in May, 1836. The Order can trace its roots back to a series of similar societies that existed in Ireland for more than 300 years. Today the AOH exists in America, Canada, Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland, however, while the organizations share a common thread, the American AOH is a separate and much larger organization.
Division generally meets the last Tuesday of Each Month at 7:30pm, here at Seton.

Mission of Catholic Women Association:
To Evangelize, create the awareness of the role of a woman not only in the building of her home and up bringing of her children in a Christian way , also showing the light by active participation in church activities, for example volunteering in religious education, church cleaning, leading stations of the cross, prayers , participation in charitable contributions and activities etc. CWA vision is also carried out at international level by the world union of catholic women organizations. (WUCO).
CWA vision is a call to holiness using the women to spread the word and inspire the values of holistic development in the world. Also to see their mission accomplished as the women emulate Mother Mary that her virtues be exercised as prayer goes with faith, to make the world a better place
The Seton Crochet Ministry was established in May 1998. Two members, Julia and Marianne Volpe started the process of collecting squares from parishioners. It became the “Seton Family Afghan” and was raffled every year at Christmas with proceeds to the church.
The group's membership has grown over the years, all who share their gifts of crochet, knit use of looms and sewing.
Handmade Prayer Shawls have been gifted to grieving members of Seton Parish to help recognize the comforting warmth of God who helps all. Additionally, handmade items have been made for many local charities including Veteran Home, NICU, Helen Graham, St. Vincent de Paul and more.
Please consider sharing your gifts of time and talent.
Crochet Ministry generally meets every Thursday in the Parish Hall from 11:00am-1:30pm. No experience is necessary—we are ready willing and able to teach our craft!
Unable to join us at that time but still want to be a part of this ministry? Consider crocheting items at home (contact Marianne Volpe at 302-449-0967 for details and leave a message) or by donating soft acrylic yarn to be used to make our handmade offerings.
In the spring of 2012, a group of parishioners decided to host a parish-wide party and fundraiser. Their first endeavor was a Beef and Beer Party. They had so much fun that they named themselves the Fun Committe and had an Italian Party the following year.
Since then, they have had themed parties featuring dinner and live music that expanded to Irish, Mardi Gras, a Helicopter Ball Drop, Pop-up Beer Garden, Rock n' Roll, Club Night, concerts, Halloween Party, March Madness wheelbarrow of cheer, and most recently a Comedy Night. New volunteers are always welcomed!
The proceeds from events held by the Fun Committee help to support our parish and parish programs.

The Kyle Adams Memorial Seton Golf Tournament was established in 2007 to help raise money in support of our parish and parish programs. Kyle Adams' family were founding parishioners of our parish and he golfed in this tournament each year until his passing.
Funds raised through this annual golf tournament help us to further the mission of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and to serve the community by performing outreach to the poor and needy with basic necessities, financial, emotional, and spiritual support within the greater Bear & Christiana, Delaware area.
Golfers of all levels are welcome to form a foursome, or be combined into another team. This is always a great day of fun and camaraderie for our parish with golf, dinner, contests of skill, raffles, and more!
Our next tournament is planned for Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, DE. Sponsorship opportunities are available each year at all levels. Check the bulletin and other church announcements for more information!
Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
